STUDIO TO STAGE

In this session, professional dancers showcase parts from their daily routine to give the audience an insight into their training process. To become aware of the effort it takes to make it look “effortless” on stage later, was really fascinating. I was also not aware, how long it takes to warm up for the dancers to be even capable of delivering an excellent performance.

I wanted to attend this session, because I always left ballet aside to see productions with text and I felt like I should spread my horizon. In the end, it was not only worth it, it also inspired me to – now - deepen my knowledge in ballet. To see the dancers move to the music and how tiny corrections can make a true impact on the end results, was eyes-opening. It seems like minor details are not only important backstage, even on stage it can enhance the experience for the audience.
